COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The program focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence into teaching practices to enhance instructional design, increase student engagement, and personalize learning experiences. Participants will delve into the practical applications of AI technologies in the classroom, exploring innovative AI and ICT tools and software that can facilitate and enhance learning; as well as tools that detect AI/ChatGPT usage or detection. The course also addresses the critical thinking necessary to assess AI’s effectiveness and ethical considerations, ensuring educators are prepared to make informed decisions about technology use in their educational environments.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Wide range of educational professionals across primary, middle and secondary schools, higher education, training centers, adult education schools and NGOs.
REQUIREMENTS:
– Please note that the course may have participants from various school levels and English proficiency, typically between B1-C2.
– Equipment Required: Laptop.
METHODOLOGY:
Through interactive workshops, hands-on sessions, and collaborative discussions, educators will gain the skills needed to effectively integrate these technologies into their teaching strategies.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
– Understand the key principles, capabilities, and limitations of AI technologies, distinguishing between AI myths and realities in the context of educational effectiveness.
– Identify, select, and utilize various ICT tools that can support and enhance digital communication, collaboration, and content delivery in the classroom (e.g. ChatGPT).
– Develop engaging and innovative lesson plans that incorporate AI tools to enhance learning outcomes and foster a dynamic learning environment.
– Critically assess various AI applications for their pedagogical value, suitability, and potential impact on student learning and privacy.
– Apply methods to monitor and measure how AI applications affect student engagement and learning outcomes, using data to inform teaching practices.
– Recognize and navigate the ethical, legal, and social implications of using AI in education, including issues of data privacy, bias, and equity.
– Stay informed of emerging trends in AI and ICT and adapt teaching strategies to leverage cutting-edge technologies responsibly and effectively.
– Use AI to support inclusive education practices, ensuring that technology implementation considers diverse learning needs and promotes equity within the classroom.
– Promote the exchange of practices between educators from different contexts and regions;
– Discuss the benefits of an active learning approach to encourage students to solve problems, formulate complex questions, debate, explain and brainstorm during class;
– Empower educators to create practical and meaningful experiences;
– Improve technical and English language, communication and social skills.

– Critical analysis – Benefits and limitations of specific AI tools.
3) Wednesday
– Pedagogical frameworks for integrating AI in curriculum.
– Available tools for AI/ChatGPT detection.
– Developing AI-driven lesson plans – Workshop on crafting engaging content.
– Personalization through AI – Adapting to diverse learning needs.
4) Thursday
– Future trends in AI and education – What’s next?
– Creating an ethical AI usage framework for schools.
